In 2009, I was not able to check number 84 off of my 101 in 1001 list: mail Christmas cards out before Christmas. Call that a big fat FAIL... I had all intentions of sending cards — really, I did — but the holiday madness took over and I just never got around to it. Then I told myself I'd send New Year's cards and, well, that didn't happen either. Pathetic, I know.
This past weekend I dusted off my Gocco and screen-printed some Valentine's Day cards to send to our friends and family. I'm so pleased with how they turned out; hopefully this will make up for the lack of Christmas and New Year's cards, and be a nice surprise in people's mailboxes, to boot!
I can't show you the full design until they're all mailed out and received, but here's a sneak peek of my pink and gold creation...
Do you send holiday cards on time every year (or ever)? Anyone else making up for their lack of Christmas/New Year's cards with Valentine's Day cards this year?

ReplyDeleteGocco machines were all the rave on the Knot when I was planning my wedding 5 months ago... I don't have one but love everything about them!!! If only they didn't stop making them (Sigh) These are simply darling (From what I can c!) Heck, i bought hello kitty cards for all my girlfriends...Thinking it would b totally cute! I'm jealous!
ReplyDeleteoooh, I wanna see the whole thing! Tease!
ReplyDeleteYou know, it's kind of a neat idea to send a 'holiday card' on a different holiday than christmas. You should act like you meant to do this, as opposed to saying it's because you didn't get around to the xmas cards. These look great!
ReplyDeleteOOooo! I'm excited to see the whole thing. One of the things on my list is to send out Valentine's, but I'm not cool and can't make my own, so I got a pack of cards from Target for a buck!
ReplyDeleteoooh! the little teaser picture is so cute so i'm sure i'll love the big reveal.
ReplyDeletei also had huge plans of doing holiday cards too and that just didn't happen.
I salute you for dusting off your Gocco! I haven't used mine since just before our wedding in August. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHooray for Valentine's!!! I'll be sending out quite a few to friends/family this year, since it'll be the last card I'll get to send out before birth announcements!
ReplyDeletenice work, can't wait to see the rest of the valentine card!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your resolution, because I've been there SO many times! This year I bought a box of cards that never got written at all. So at least I'll have them ready for early sending next year, right?
ReplyDeleteAnd your Valentines look lovely! Who wants a boring old Christmas card when instead they could be surprised by one of your pretty Valentines on a cold, drab February day?
can't wait to see the whole thing! And I love the font!
ReplyDeleteLove that font, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I can't wait to see the whole thing!
