When I first heard that season 7 was going to have a new format, with only a top 10 making it past the Vegas auditions and "all-star" cast members returning to the show to round out 20 dancers, I was hesitant. I don't like change. I always liked the show the way it was before, so why change it? Then they announced who the all-stars would be, and I quickly changed my tune. Neil! Twitch! Allison! Courtney! Pasha! (Among others.) Amazing.
On Wednesday night, the top 10 were chosen (but it's actually the top 11 because they just couldn't narrow the guys down to 5). Last night was the first performance show of the season, and it did NOT disappoint. I can breathe easier — the show I love and look forward to every summer is back!
So far in the top 11, I am loving Kent, Lauren, Billy, and Cristina. You can learn more about all of the dancers here and here. I'm so excited for this season! I think Billy and Alex are my favorites so far.
ReplyDeleteI'm sooo conflicted about this season! On one hand, I don't want to get attached because I'm going on vacation in July. On the other hand, I'm already in love with Kent, the black dude with the amazing name that I'm not even going to attempt, and Lauren. One the other other hand, I'm really pissed that they didn't keep the dude from Brooklyn (Anthony?). He was AMAZING. I'm SUPER pissed about that. Did they really need Billy and the other dude? Grump grump grump.

ReplyDeleteI disagree with you on Cristina though, I thought she wasn't on par with Pasha and Anya last night. Your other favs- Billy (he was ADORABLE with the firetruck last night) and Lauren are on my list too.
Also, 1 more comment. I think the judges favorites got to dance the better dances last night. :)
I'm sure you could already tell from my totally disjointed tweeting that I love SYTYCD! I think Kent and Lauren are currently my favorites; the dance they did yesterday was AWESOME and featured my favorite all-star, Mark. I'm excited to see how the all-star format works out too!

ReplyDeleteI love SYTYCD. I hope 'fingers crossed' that it returns to its former glory. So far I heart Kent, Alexie, Jose and am torn between Alex and Billy- they seem kinda the same. Hope the 'All Star' thing works out- it felt kinda awkward last week.
