You know you're a grown-up when you start lusting after beautiful laundry rooms.

Have you seen the great DIY transformation of Centsational Girl's laundry room? It makes me want to sing and dance around with an oversized bottle of Wisk.

I also love the tidy and organized laundry nook of John & Sherry from Young House Love.

Alas, for now, our little washer-dryer combo tucked behind a curtain (in my office, of all places) will have to do. Sigh. At least we have a washer-dryer, right?

  1. Ooh I love these rooms. The colors are all so soothing! Our washer/dryer is in a closet in the front hallway and I would love to have a few cabinets for detergent or a counter for folding clothes. But then I remember how much of a pain it was to do laundry in the dorms and I'm grateful for our own machines :)

  2. Our stacked laundry combo is right next to our bed behind a curtain. :) One day we will be grown ups too... I swear :)

  3. Oh man. laundry rooms like those make me shed silent tears. Ours is one of those spooky basement deals, looming in a dark corner against a peeling-paint covered cement wall, under spiderweb-strewn open rafters, and next to the cat's litter box. I have dreams for it, but it's such a major (and scary!) project. Eep! I've been seriously considering making one of those fake roman curtains for the drab little basement window above the washer/dryer tho. One step at a time, right?

  4. Ooooh, pretty :)

Currently, we have our personal washer/dryer set in our storage room, since the apartment we're in has a built-in ancient stacked system. (NOT the pretty kind.) I miss my washer and dryer - they're not stackable, but they're HUGE, and I love them. The one that came with the apartment is so tiny I can only fit 3 bath towels to wash at a time. It's a little ridiculous.

  7. Our laundry area is in our upstairs hallway. It's sad because they don't have their own room but great because it's upstairs and we don't have to lug laundry up and down the stairs.

  8. This makes me wonder if I can talk the hubby into letting me hang a little chandelier above my washer/dryer in our garage, maybe it would help make doing laundry more fun for me! LOL

  9. Not that I love doing laundry, but these rooms can be so appealing. Overall I just want Censational Girl's house. :)

  10. I don't see what was wrong with the room before. It looked super nice before and didn't need anything. I would love to have either of those laundry rooms, instead of my spider-web infested concrete floored laundry room in the basement. I don't even like going in my laundry room after I found a bat dead on the floor in there back in 2008.
